Restoring Gaps

Fixed Restorations for Multiple Missing Teeth

When you lose one or more teeth, the remaining gap can cause nearby teeth to tilt, drift, and interfere with your bite alignment. A dental bridge consists of custom artificial teeth (pontics) anchored securely to crowns placed on the healthy teeth on either side of the gap (abutment teeth).

At Zen Smiles Dental, we design bridges using durable, tissue-friendly ceramic materials like monolithic zirconia. This ensures the restoration resists chipping and matches the natural opalescence of your healthy teeth. It provides an excellent, fixed alternative for patients who may not have sufficient bone structure for dental implants or who prefer non-surgical gap restoration.

Clinical Journey

The Treatment Procedure

We craft our bridges with meticulous detail in our ceramic laboratory to ensure long-term stability and a comfortable bite.

01

Abutment Preparation

Under local anesthesia, the teeth adjacent to the gap are carefully shaped. This creates space to support the anchor crowns.

02

3D Scan & Temporary

We take digital 3D scans of the prepared area and place a comfortable temporary bridge to protect your teeth while the final bridge is made.

03

Laboratory Fabrication

Our ceramicists craft the bridge structure, custom-shading and layering the ceramic to blend invisibly with your neighboring teeth.

04

Fitting & Cementation

We test the bridge for fit, margins, and bite harmony. Once approved, it is permanently bonded using medical-grade adhesive resin.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about dental bridges.

Should I get a dental bridge or a dental implant?
An implant is generally the preferred option because it is free-standing and does not require preparing or reshaping the adjacent healthy teeth. However, if the adjacent teeth already have large fillings or require crowns, a bridge can serve the double purpose of replacing the missing tooth and protecting the anchor teeth simultaneously.
How do I clean under a dental bridge?
Because a bridge is joined together in a single piece, you cannot slide dental floss between the teeth. You must clean under the artificial tooth (pontic) using specialized floss threaders, superfloss, or an interdental brush. Water flossers are also highly effective at keeping the area clean.
How long do dental bridges last?
A dental bridge typically lasts between 10 to 15 years. Longevity depends heavily on maintaining excellent oral hygiene around the anchor teeth to prevent gum disease or decay under the crowns.
Is the preparation of abutment teeth painful?
No, the reshaping process is performed entirely under local anesthesia, so the teeth will be completely numb. You may experience mild, temporary sensitivity for a few days while wearing the temporary bridge, which resolves once the permanent bridge is bonded.
